150SMAc samarium are captured by 149Sm. The data for this isotope tend to be 150SMBc old and very incomplete. To get the best set of intensities, the 150SMCc report values often had to be adjusted by factors up to ~50%. 150SM c For energies when the levels were known, I used the level 150SMAc energies in derMateosian and Tuli (1995) [1995De28]. For all 150SMBc intensities and for the energies for gamma rays for which the levels 150SMCc were not known, I used Smither (1966) [1966Sm03] for energies below 150SMDc 2331 keV and Reddingius and Postma (1969) [1969Re04] for energies 150SMEc above 5398 keV. For gamma rays not in those 2 papers, I used those in 150SMFc Groshev et al. (1963) [1963Gr18]. For gamma rays not in these 3 150SMGc papers, I used those in Rasmussen et al. (1969) [1969Ra10], which 150SMHc could include some of the stronger gamma rays from other Sm isotopes. 150SMIc (As I assign weighting functions to all data sources, a small 150SMJc fraction, ~0.1-1%, of the energies and intensities in the secondary 150SMKc sources are averaged with values from the main sources.) 150SM c The intensities for the stronger gamma rays varied widely. 150SMAc For the strongest gamma ray at 334 keV, its reported intensity varied 150SMBc from 60.9% for Smither (1966), 61% in derMateosian and Tuli (1995), 150SMCc 67.6% in Bieber et al. (1962) [1962Bi16], 82% in Groshev et al. 150SMDc (1963), 93.26% in S. Rasmussen et al. (1969), 95.2% in Becvar et al. 150SMEc (1987) [1987Be48], and 98.86% for J. W. Starner (priv. comm., 1992). 150SM c As this gamma ray accounts for about 97% of the decays to 150SMAc the ground state and as I feel that the sum into the ground state of 150SMBc high Z isotopes are usually fairly complete, I normalized the sums of 150SMCc all intensities to the ground state to about 97% (allowing a couple of 150SMDc % for conversion electrons). For papers without the 334 keV gamma ray, 150SMEc I used high-energy gamma rays in papers with the 334 keV gamma ray to 150SMFc normalize the other references. My normalization factors were 1.57 for 150SMGc Smither (1966), 1.5 for Reddingius and Postma (1969), 1.15 for Groshev 150SMHc et al. (1963), and 1.135 for Rasmussen et al. (1969). 150SM c The energies of many of these gamma rays are poorly known. 150SMAc The stronger ones are probably known to ~1 keV if the levels are not 150SMBc known and better if the levels are known, as most levels are now known 150SMCc to ~0.1 keV or better. The intensities of most gamma rays are probably 150SMDc not known to ~20%, and intensities for weaker gamma rays could be 150SMEc worse. 150SM N 1.0 150SM PN C 150SM2PN Per 100 neutron captures. 150SM
